LIBRARIES AND COMMUNITY HALLS

Although only a small town in terms of population numbers, Newcastle nevertheless prides itself on the extent of its services to its communities.

Libraries
The main library is in the centre of the town with satelite libraries in Madadeni, Osizweni, Fairleigh and Lennoxton.

Affiliated to the KwaZulu Natal Library Services means that these libraries can obtain almost any book or source of literature information one desire's.

Community Halls
In the Town centre is the Town Hall opened in 1899 in Honour of Queen Victoria also very close to the town centre is the Show Hall in the Showgrounds, then there are Community Halls in Osizweni, Madadeni, Arbor Park, Fairleigh, and Richview, all of which are available for hire by the general public as well as for a number of Municipal functions such as pension pay out points, elections, etc.
